Fourth grade students learned about Dia de las Muertos, Day of the Dead. The drew and colored sugar skulls. Their next class period they learned about about drawing faces in proper proportion. Their next assignment will be learning about Modigliani and drawing faces in his style.
Fourth graders created radial name designs using a warm/cool color scheme.

Fifth Grade students created illuminated letters using the first letter of their first name. They wrote a paragraph about themselves to accompany their name.

Second grade students learned about Marc Chagall and multiple points of view. They have drawn their own pictures using multiple points of view and are using crayons to color them in. There is lots of creative thinking happening in these pictures.

In early October second grade students completed a self-portrait with shadow. They looked wonderful displayed together in the stairway.

Second Grade Students read a Little Miss Spider book and practiced drawing spider webs. The students then drew a spider web on red construction paper. (The artworks in the Little Miss Spider books have lots of bright colors.) I then used black glue to go over the spider webs on the red paper. The next class period the second grade students free cut shapes and glued them together to create their own Little Miss Spider.
